University Club Swim Team

Coach Brei here and great to be back for my 17th season with the University Club! I grew up swimming in Raleigh for TSA, at 9 I joined Wave, and in high school I had the pleasure of swimming at Enloe. As an all American I found myself staying in state and becoming a division 1 champion at UNCW (unc- wonderful for my beach folk). I love swimming and have been able to continue my passion in this sport by coaching both here and at Enloe High School. I love dogs (not cats, sorry people), chocolate ice cream, and new experiences! This past winter I was able to get up close and personal with some Alpacas! Fun fact, they do NOT like being pet on top of their head.

My name is Sarah Foglia and I grew up swimming with Brei here at University Club and at Enloe. I also swam with my club team YOTA and for a year in college at Washington College. I currently go to school at Appalachian State University where my major is a pre-med track in Exercise Science. This summer I am excited about seeing the progress of the kids and making practices fun! A fun fact about me is I love backpacking, rock climbing, and all things nature. I am super excited for this summer! :)

I am super excited to be coaching with UClub this summer. I’ve been swimming here since I was four and have always wanted to be a coach and be involved with this team! I am currently swimming on New Wave Swim Team and have been swimming all my life. I’m a sophomore at Wake Christian Academy private school. This summer I am beyond excited to become closer with the swimmers and have fun at practice and at meets. I can’t wait to grow a strong relationship with this team in more ways than I have before.

Hello! My name is Ethan Holloway, this is going to be my third year coaching here at UClub along with this year being my 13th year swimming for UClub! I am currently finishing up my senior year at Wake Christian Academy and will be swimming and studying sport management at North Carolina State University. Coaching here at UClub is one of my favorite parts of the summer. From the red white meet all the way till TSA I love watching the kid’s improvement with smiles along the way. I am so excited for this year and can’t wait for all the memories along the way. Go Pack!

Hey y’all! I am super excited to be returning for my second summer working with the 7-10s. I started swimming with the University Club in 2018 and have ever since! I am going into my senior year at Broughton High School and looking forward to super fun summer filled with lots of fast swimming! Go U-Club!!

Hi everyone, my name is Ellie Pegram, and I’m currently a student at the University of Alabama studying Communications with double minors in Sales and Spanish. I began swimming at just three years old at the University Club and continued competing through my senior year of high school, swimming year-round for a total of 11 years. During that time, I swam with the Marlins of Raleigh before moving to the Raleigh Swimming Association. My primary events were the 200 butterfly and backstroke, the 400 IM, and the 400 and 800 freestyle. Swimming has been a huge part of my life, and I’m excited to share that experience and work with all of the swimmers.

I grew up swimming in North Carolina and have been in the pool pretty much my whole life. I swam for the TAC Titian’s for 8 years, then took a step away from year round swimming and taught swim lessons at lifetime north Raleigh! Here is where I found my passion for coaching swimming!! This is my second year as a coach at UClub, and I’m especially excited because I’ll be coaching the 6-and-unders this year! Last year, I was a 7-8 & 9-10 coach and loved it! Especially all the amazing kids! Im excited for the opportunity to introduce the youngest swimmers to the sport and help them build confidence in the water while having fun. I’m currently a senior at Broughton High School and plan to attend High Point University majoring in entrepreneurship with a minor in social media marketing. I’m really looking forward to the swim meets, practices, building team spirit, and watching the kids grow. A fun fact about me is that I grew up snowboarding since I was little. I enjoy going to new mountains every winter with my family.

Growing up I swam club for the Marlins of Raleigh and for the Lake Johnson stingrays during the summers. I am currently attending NC State University, on the swim team, and studying marine science. One thing that I am excited about is getting to make an impression on young swimmers who are ready to have fun. One fun fact about me is I competed in the Olympic Trials in 2024.

Hi! My name is Calvin Wheeler and I am so excited for this summer! I am a rising sophomore at Auburn University majoring in exercise science. I am super excited to be back coaching the 6 and Under and Wolf Pup Groups for my 4th year! I started swimming at the age of 9 here under Coach Buzek and from there went on and swam for the Marlins of Raleigh. I was a 4 year varsity swimmer and captain for 2 years at Broughton High School as well. I am super excited for this summer and can’t wait to help all these swimmers - new or experienced - become the best they can be and have fun while doing it!
